Levi Achterberg
Partner · elder law and Medicaid planning
Most of my clients are adult children worried about a parent. I try to make the next step obvious.
Before law school I worked nights as an aide in a care home in Newton. I saw families learn about Medicaid the week a parent moved in, and I saw what a little planning would have saved them.
Now I handle the firm's elder law: powers of attorney, guardianships and nursing-home planning. I make most of our home and care-home visits, and I speak to the person signing first, not to the family around them.
